With petrol prices touching an all-time high and no diesel models to support sales, Honda is planning to advance the launch of its car around Diwali.
2. "The company was initially planning to launch the diesel model by 2013. However, with the increasing demand for diesel cars and the hike in petrol prices, the company is advancing the launch of Honda Brio by Diwali this year,"
Honda has no diesel variant in its stable, which is becoming a big disadvantage for the company. Honda Brio will become the first car to have the diesel engine followed by City and Jazz. "With the huge surge in the price of petrol, there is a massive demand for the diesel model. We are already giving discount on our cars but it is not possible beyond a point," a marketing official from Honda said.
Honda is not the only company to advance launch of diesel cars. Renault has also advanced the unveiling of its diesel model.
The “Dynamic triangle”, focused on the nose, sweeps forward, while the “Sporty triangle”, focused on the rear fender, jumps rearward.
The Brio features Honda’s active and passive safety technologies including dual SRS front airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) which prevents wheel locking, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) which enhances braking performance, front pretensioner seat belts that pre-emptively tighten the belt to prevent the occupant from jerking forward in a crash and impact-mitigating headrests.
The Driver-side features the latest technology i-SRS airbag system with continuously staged inflation which can accommodate a broad range of occupant positions and potential collision situations.
1. Honda Brio comes with an efficient interior design concept, which leverages its packaging to offer occupants an open and spacious interior.
The Brio’s design takes Honda’s “man maximum, machine minimum” concept to a new level which is the basic approach to Honda car design calling for maximizing the space available for people and minimizing the space required for mechanical components
